High Density Stainless Steel HTPLA Filament has 70wt% 400-series stainless steel for the most magnetic HTPLA 3D prints and 3x the temperature resistance (when heat treated) compared to PLA-based metal filaments.

Protopasta Stainless Steel HTPLA is ferromagnetic. Yes, 400-series stainless steel is magnetic!

Encapsulated in plastic, the steel powder creates a matte, cast-metal finish as printed, but can be brushed, sanded, or polished for a real metal finish. Featured in September 2025's Endless Exploration Subscription Delivery.
